This morning I weighed in at 153.8, up 1.2 pounds from last week. I cooked 5 out of 7 nights last week also, but this week will not be so good because we ate out more over the long weekend.

I am not really worrying too much about my weight. I want to get feeling better before anything else. Feeling good is my number one priority at this point.

This morning I weighed 152.6, up .6 from last week. I am actually surprised that I hadn't gained more weight than just 6 tenths of a pound. I have managed to cook at home most nights, 5 out of 7. We did go out for breakfast on my husband's birthday. And for his birthday there was cake and ice cream, but hey, you gotta have birthday cake, right?

My doctor recommended the Mediterranean Diet to me and I think it is a good idea. I have not mastered it yet, but I try to use it as a guideline. Honestly, I may never eat this way exclusively, but the closer I can get to it the better.

This morning my weight was 152.0. This is down .8 form last week, woot! woot! I am completely surprised that I lost any weight at all. This past week was kinda rough, even though I managed to cook dinnner 5 nights in a row! That was quite the accomplishment, especially since I haven't been feeling as good as I had hoped.

Weight was never an issue for me until after I quit smoking the year I turned 40. It's never too late to quit smoking, but I would suggest doing it earlier as opposed to later, for many reasons.

It probably didn't help that we (my husband quit at the same time as I did) rewarded ourselves with pie a lot. We would say "we haven't had a cigarette in X number of days, so let's go get some pie", and off we would go to the store to buy pie and ice cream, or cheesecake, or whatever sweet treat that caught our eye. We didn't just get a piece, we would get a whole pie, or cake.

After a 10 week bout with Chronic Urticaria (hives) my family physician referred me to a dermatologist. She told me there was only about a 10% chance that they would be able to find a cause for the hives, which was disturbing. She told me to take 4 Claritin a day to keep the hives under control. Well, that didn't work, so I was back in her office about 10 days later.

We were going to the circus in January 2011 and I noticed that, just walking from the car to the arena, I was wheezing and out-of-breath. Now this was not a long walk because we landed the perfect parking spot, right across the street from the arena. I just blamed my wheezing and shortness of breath on my recent (over the course of 1 1/2 years) weight gain of about 40 pounds.
